The docfilmpool association was initiated by members of the German Association of Documentary Filmmakers (AG DOK) to film the subject of the “COVID 19 / Corona Pandemic”.
docfilmpool aims to promote art and culture as well as contemporary aspects, primarily through documentary films. It is the umbrella organization of a collective of more than 50 German documentary filmmakers. They networked across Germany and beyond during the COVID 19 pandemic and will continue to do so, also on different subjects.
The goal of this association is to create a stable framework for collective film projects, a material collection (archive), and possibly resulting in collective or individual films. These should then be made accessible to the general public. This should also go beyond the current situation of the pandemic.
As one of the first registered associations, docfilmpool was founded during the pandemic utilizing a video conference on the Internet on April 28, 2020. This was made possible by § 5 of the GesRuaCOVBekG, which the Federal government implemented specifically to enable such measures during the shutdown. The association is registered and headquartered in Berlin.
